Proofreading is meant to be the last stage of the editing process, after any other edits have been completed and there are no more changes to the work. Because of this, it’s best to make sure that you’re completely happy with your manuscript before sending it to be proofread. My job is to come in and ensure that it’s as error free as possible before you hit publish. As I comb through your work, my focus will be on spotting mistakes in spelling, grammar, word usage, and punctuation.

Terms and Conditions
- Want to know if we’ll be a good fit? I offer a free sample edit of up to ten pages (roughly 2,500 words) upon request.
- I’ll return the sample edit with a contract for you to look over as you make your decision.
Before any work is started, a 50 percent deposit is due after the contract has been signed. Once edits are completed, the remaining balance is due before the manuscript is returned.
1. Contact Me
Hit the Contact button at the top of the page and fill out the form, then email me your manuscript. I’ll then provide you with a more accurate quote or, if it’s been requested, a sample edit. If you have a style sheet for your project that you’d like me to use, you can include that as well.
I’ll send you a contract that will detail the scope of services being performed, how long the project should take, and payment information. Once the contract is signed and sent back to me, I’ll send you an invoice for 50 percent of the project total as a deposit.
When the contract is signed and the deposit is paid, I’ll get to work on your manuscript. All changes will be made following the Chicago Manual of Style and Merriam-Webster unless otherwise you specify otherwise. I do not make changes directly to the manuscript, but by using Track Changes in Word or Google Docs.
4. Payment and Return
Once editing is nearing completion, I’ll invoice you for the remaining balance of the project and the exact date that edits should be completed by. When the last of the edits have been completed and I’ve received the final payment, I’ll return the edited manuscript back to you to accept or reject the changes made.
